68.1 The Lead Member considered a report by the Director of Children’s Services regarding the use some of the Household Support Fund to provide food vouchers over the May half-term and Summer school holidays to pupils eligible for free school meals.

68.2 The Lead Member RESOLVED to agree the proposed use of approximately £1,106,700 of the Household Support Fund to provide food vouchers over the May half-term and Summer school holidays to pupils eligible for free school meals between May 2022 and September 2022.

Reason

68.3 The HSF provides an opportunity to provide support to East Sussex families and individuals who are experiencing financial challenges, including the provision of food vouchers to eligible children and families.

69.1 The Lead Member considered a report by the Director of Children’s Services on a proposal to establish a new specialist facility at All Saints CE Primary School.

69.2 The Lead Member RESOLVED to approve the establishment of a new specialist facility at All Saints CE Primary School, Bexhill for up to 12 pupils with effect from 1 September 2022.

Reason

69.3 The local authority has identified a gap in specialist provision in mainstream primary schools for pupils with neuro-diverse profiles, such as ASD and associated SEMH and SLCN, in the Rother area.

69.4 The local authority would like to establish a specialist facility for up to 12 pupils with ASD and associated SEMH and SLCN at All Saints CE Primary School, Bexhill with effect from 1 September 2022 to address this need.
